Clean Rice Water Facial Rince

Want to try rice water on your skin but worried about the dirt and particles that may come with some rice? Here’s a cleaner way to prepare it.

YOU’LL NEED:
2 tablespoons rice
½ cup clean drinking or distilled water

HOW TO MAKE IT:
Sort the rice carefully and remove any stones, husks or visible debris.
Rinse the rice thoroughly 2–3 times with clean running water until the water becomes visibly clearer.
Transfer the rinsed rice into a clean bowl and add ½ cup freshly boiled water.
Cover and allow it to steep for 20–30 minutes.
Strain the rice water using a clean, fine strainer or clean cloth.
Allow it to cool completely before using.

HOW TO USE: After cleansing your face, apply the cooled rice water gently with clean hands or a clean cotton pad. Leave for a few minutes, then rinse with clean water.

TIP: Make a fresh batch for each use. Because homemade rice water has no preservative, don't keep it sitting around for days.

Don’t throw away your banana peel just yet. The inside of a banana peel can help leave your skin feeling softer, smoother and more moisturised, while its natural antioxidants support a healthy looking glow.

How to use:
Wash the banana thoroughly, gently rub the inside of the peel on clean skin, leave for 5–10 minutes, then rinse and moisturise.

Remember: banana peel can support a fresh, radiant appearance but it is not a treatment for dark spots or melasma.
