I’ve gone back and forth about sharing this… but here goes nothing😅

Deeva Body ng started with me (Misturah) a young Nigerian graduate during my service year, with no experience, no structure, just passion and a desire to create something meaningful.

Over time, that little passion project became a real business. By 2019, it was growing beautifully. Orders, feedback and community (YOU!)❤️

Then life shifted, my life changed in the most beautiful and demanding way. I became a mum to triplets! The joy is indescribable and so is the demand🥹. I tried to hold on to both worlds. I tried to keep Deeva Body running the way you knew it.

But by mid last year, I had to face the truth: I couldn’t do it all fully. I had to prioritize which ball to hold on to, and which to put down. So in December 2025, we announced the painful decision to pause the business.

Not because I stopped loving it, but because I had to choose where I was most needed in this season of my life.

The pause wasn’t something planned, so we still had some ingredients left and we decided to use them to make a few final batches.

I have officially completed my Advanced Diploma in Organic Cosmetic Science with . 🎉 Alhamdulillah!

It wasn’t just about completing a course, it was about growing as a formulator, understanding the science behind every ingredient, and learning to create products that are high performance products that are safe and effective.

Over the course I’ve:
✓Deepened my understanding of formulation science, from oils and emulsions to active ingredients and preservatives.
✓ Learnt how to create safe, effective, and professional-grade products.
✓ Developed critical problem-solving skills, experimenting, testing, and refining formulas.

Balancing this journey with running a business and life’s responsibilities made it challenging, but it also strengthened my discipline, patience, and creativity.

I’m excited to take this knowledge further by helping total beginners to create their own beauty products and turn ideas into safe and effective formulations. 🥰

Learning, experimenting, and growing as a formulator for over 7 years has been an incredible experience that I can’t wait to pass on. I'll be sharing more about this in coming times inshallah.
