Then there is the version that appears the moment we get home.
The shoes come off. The serious face disappears. The comfortable clothes take over, and suddenly nobody is available for unnecessary activities.
Home is where some of us become our most authentic selves.

Sometimes, we become so focused on what we are still waiting for that we forget to appreciate what we already have.
The plans that worked out. The people who genuinely care. The strength to keep going when things become difficult. Even the lessons that taught us to make better decisions.
I may not have everything I desire yet, but I have reasons to be grateful.
Today, I want to slow down a little, appreciate the present, and remember that my journey doesn't have to look like anybody else's.
