*LIVER CIRRHOSIS:

*What it is:*
Permanent scarring of the liver. Scar tissue replaces healthy cells, so the liver can’t filter blood, make proteins, or process nutrients properly.

*Main causes:*
1. Long-term heavy alcohol use
2. Hepatitis B & C infections
3. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease — linked to obesity/diabetes
4. Autoimmune or genetic conditions

*Signs to watch for:*
Early: Fatigue, poor appetite, nausea
Later: Yellow skin/eyes, swollen belly/legs, easy bruising, confusion, itchy skin

*Prevention tips:*
- Limit/avoid alcohol
- Get Hep B vaccine, test & treat Hep C
- Keep a healthy weight, manage diabetes
- Avoid risky behavior — no shared needles
- Regular liver checks if at risk

*Key point:* Early cirrhosis has few symptoms. Once advanced, damage can’t be reversed but complications can be managed.

*Caption idea:*
Your liver is a powerhouse — don’t wait for it to scar. Cirrhosis is often preventable. Know the causes & signs 👆

*KIDNEY STONES: The Quick Facts* 🪨

*What are they?*
Hard deposits of minerals + salts that form inside your kidneys when urine gets too concentrated.

*Common signs:*
- Sharp pain in back/side, often moving to groin
- Pain while p*eing, pink/red/brown urine
- Nausea, vomiting, frequent urge to p*e
- Fever/chills if there’s infection — _go to hospital_

*Top causes:*
1. Not drinking enough water
2. Too much salt, sugar, or oxalate foods (spinach, nuts, chocolate)
3. Family history, obesity, repeated UTIs
4. Some meds/supplements

*Prevention tips:*
- *Water is king:* 2–3L daily. Aim for light yellow p*e
- Cut down salt & sugary drinks
- Add lemon/orange — citrate helps stop stones
- Don’t overdo calcium supplements, but dietary calcium is fine

*When to see a doctor:*
Severe pain, fever, vomiting, blood in urine, or can’t pass urine.

Small stones often pass on their own. Big ones may need medical help.
