UNWANTED HOPE

A short story

İn a very far away town lived a very smart Boy named Hope. He lived with his father and his step mother Damilola.
Damilola has a son of the same age as Hope, and they happened to be best friends that did everything together.
He never even for once seen his parents but he was told that they had a car accident and they both passed away.
Damilola has done all things possible to get them separated but to no avail. She hated how those two were all over each other.

One day, Damilola's Friend paid her a visit while hope and Ayo were both in school. She told her that she had a dream about her children, and in the dream she saw that Hope was Richer than Ayo.

" İ Know one Babalawo that can get things done for us" she suggested.

That same day, they went to Babalawo's place and he gave them a black powder. The man asked her to put it inside his meal and suggested that she acted so well for him to consume everything.
However, Damilola prepared their favorite meal and waited for them outside. They usually have their meals together but she got it separated today.

" My boys are back so early" she embraced them.

" Oh mom why are you outside" Ayo asked

" İ miss you" she uttered.

They walked into the house and she asked them to freshened up and be back for their meals.
As soon as they were back, she served Hope first before Ayo and begun telling them a story.
With the way she acted, Hope wasn't comfortable with the whole situation because she was never kind to him.

"This woman act so suspicious" he thought and came up with a plan of not having the meal.

" İ want to eat outside" He said and left the room. Damilola didn't bothered to follow him because she knew he was very hungry and would definitely have his food.

Outside the house, Damilola saw a hen and he decided to give her a spoon of his meal.
İt wasn't even up to a minute when the hen fell dead.

" OMG! This was her plan" he cried and came up with another plan.
The boy got a mat inside the house and pretended that he was dead.

" What took him so long" Damilola thought as came outside to see things for herself.
As expected, she saw hope deceased.

" İ am very delighted" She said and thought of how to send Ayo for an errand in order to get her task completed. She covered Bola's co**se with her unwashed clothes that made it looked plenty.

" Ayo ! Ayo! " She called.

" Mom where's Hope" he asked.

" İ think he's outside, come and get me some salt at the market"

" Ok mom" he replied and left.

As soon as he left the house, she called her friend and they headed to the forest where they planned to threw the co**se.
