Why I keep opening my home to people…
Last night was another one of those evenings that reminded me why I love doing this. ❤️
A group of people who, for the most part, didn’t know each other walked through my door. Right from the start there was laughter, interesting conversations, connection and a genuine exchange of experiences.
And honestly… that is one of the reasons I organize these evenings.
But there’s something even bigger behind it.
I have a real passion for sharing knowledge about health and prevention.
Because I strongly believe that we should not wait until our health starts to decline before we start paying attention to it.
One of the things I’m particularly passionate about is omega-3.
Not because it’s the latest health trend, but because omega-3 fatty acids are fundamental building blocks for our cells and play important roles throughout the body.
For example, omega-3 is involved in:
🐟 Heart & cardiovascular health
🐟 Brain function and cognitive health
🐟 Supporting a healthy inflammatory response
🐟 Eye and vision health
🐟 Healthy ageing and overall cellular health
And what most people don’t know is that our bodies cannot make the essential omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA in sufficient amounts ourselves. We need to get them from our diet.
Yet many people have no idea whether they are getting enough.
That’s why I love doing these evenings.
To make people curious.
To create awareness.
To share the science behind what we can do for our health before problems arise.
And ultimately, to help people take more responsibility for their own health and longevity.
I’m not interested in telling people what they should do.
I want to give people the knowledge to make informed choices.
Because prevention starts with awareness.
And if I can bring a few people together over a cup of tea, a healthy snack and an honest conversation about health… then I’m very happy to keep opening that door. 🥰
Morning walk benefits:
1. Moving your body
Boosts circulation, helps regulate blood sugar and supports fat metabolism, releases endorphins, which improves mood and reduces stress
2. Forest bathing
Trees release phytoncides, which support your immune system (you need a couple of hours for these benefits, but a short walk can already lower stress hormones)
3. Morning light exposure
Helps reset your circadian rhythm, which improves your sleep
4. Tree hugging
Physical contact with nature can promote grounding, which reduces stress. Possibly the free electron transfer from direct contact, which neutralises free radicals. But probably just stress reduction, because you slow down and connect with your environment.
MUSSELS

Today many people are working from home because of the snow and the code orange alert for most of the country.
And while it’s tempting to stay inside all day, this is actually a perfect moment to step outside.
A short walk in the cold does more than just clear your head:
• Movement boosts energy – even 10–20 minutes of walking increases blood flow, focus and creativity
• Being outside lowers stress – fresh air and daylight help calm your nervous system
• Cold exposure trains your body – moving through different temperatures supports thermoregulation: your body learns to adapt instead of staying in one constant, comfortable zone
• You break the mental loop of screens and meetings
• Adding enough sitting breaks will help prevent muscle loss
We’re not meant to sit for hours at a time in one stable indoor temperature.
Variation (in posture, movement and temperature) is a form of strength.
So if you’re working from home today:
Schedule a sitting break, put on warm clothes, step outside, and come back with more energy and feeling refreshed.
Sometimes the best productivity hack is just going for a brisk walk. ❄️
At some point, you realise:
no one is coming to fix this for you.
Your energy.
Your strength.
Your focus.
Your health.
Taking ownership of your health doesn’t mean turning your life upside down overnight.
It means small steps, taken consistently. steps
• Choosing movement, even when you’re tired
• Eating to fuel performance, not just convenience
• Sleeping like it actually matters (because it does)
• Getting curious about what your body needs now — not 20 years ago
You don’t need extremes.
You need ownership.
Because the man you want to be at 50, 60 or 70
is built by the choices you make today — one small step at a time.
Start where you are.
But start. 💪
