The rule in PMU is to always work along the natural lip border. But in some cases, we can go slightly outside the line to create the illusion of more volume.

With a good lip design, it can look very natural while giving the lips a little more fullness and projection. 👄✨

Right after the treatment, the color was much more intense and red, but PMU fades a lot during the healing process. So don’t be scared of that fresh color — it’s not the final result.

She came to me with naturally dark, very evenly pigmented lips and one clear goal: to gradually achieve a soft, rosy pink tone.

For this session, I worked with warm orange and pink tones, including a Barbie Pink shade from Pigment, to help neutralize the darkness and build the desired color gradually.

She didn’t want a defined lip border, so we focused on full-lip pigmentation, keeping the result soft, even and natural — with a subtle, almost medical-aesthetic appearance.

This is only one step in her journey. PMU is a gradual process, and the final color develops as the lips heal. 💗

Dark or highly pigmented lips often need more than 2 sessions. In her case, 2 sessions were enough because her lips were a mix of pale + darker areas, without a strong blue/purple undertone.

For deeper purple or bluish undertones, pigment choice needs to be much more specific. Healing can also be influenced by metabolism, lifestyle, smoking, previous PMU and skin response — which is why consultation matters.
