Op zaterdag 22 augustus verwelkomen we Robert Boyd Smith (Blacksmith) bij Inkstitution voor een exclusieve guestspot.

Robert staat bekend om zijn indrukwekkende freehand tattoos, waarbij het ontwerp rechtstreeks op het lichaam ontstaat en volledig aansluit op jouw anatomie. Zijn werk beweegt natuurlijk met het lichaam en resulteert in een tattoo die écht uniek is.

Zijn stijl kenmerkt zich door een krachtige combinatie van Sacred Geometry, tribal, blackwork en organische composities. Van subtiele patronen tot complete sleeves, backpieces en bodyflow-projecten: ieder ontwerp wordt met precisie opgebouwd en krijgt een eigen karakter.

Vanaf 15 augustus is Yanoezs .yanoezs iedere zaterdag te vinden bij Inkstitution Rotterdam.

Yanoezs is de grondlegger van NEOLUKU: een eigentijdse tattoostijl waarin persoonlijke verhalen worden vertaald naar unieke abstracte blackwork designs. Geïnspireerd door Austronesische kunst en cultuur, maar altijd volledig op maat ontworpen voor de drager. Geen standaard patronen, maar een tattoo met een eigen betekenis.

One of the biggest mistakes I see in the tattoo studio?

People already know they want a full sleeve… but they start by asking for a half sleeve.

Or they dream about a complete body flow, but leave the chest out because it feels like “too much.”

The funny thing is, most of the time they come back months or years later wanting exactly what they had in mind from the beginning.

When you design a sleeve with the final result in mind, every line, every shape and every transition has a purpose. The composition flows naturally with your body instead of feeling like separate tattoos that have to be connected later.

That’s why I always encourage my clients to think bigger.

You don’t have to tattoo everything in one session. We can build it over time. But having a clear vision from the start creates a much stronger, more timeless piece.
