RF facelift is an actual alternative to the surgical intervention and is therefore also called nonsurgical facelift method. The operation principle of RF facelift is based on application of high-frequency electric field with the current running between two electrodes, poles, warming up the inner skin and subcutaneous fat.
Application depth is controlled automatically. By attaining desirable temperature the process of new skin cells (fibroblasts) formation is kickstarted. Unlike other heat application methods (laser, IPL, ultra-red rays) epidermis is only warmed by way of heat exchange with the derm while muscle tissues are not warmed up at all. With aging collagen fibers are stretched causing the skin to lose its elasticity and droop (main signs of aging). Immediate effect of RF facelift is attained by contraction of collagen fibers of the skin support structure.
Long-term effect is attained by induction of several compensatory mechanisms including fibroblasts formation, increased blood circulation, and boost of 3D-oriented neocollagen production characteristic of young skin. According to the histologic examinations considerable increase of elastin and collagen concentration in the skin is detectable already after few treatments. It is especially worth mentioning that visible improvement is observed in clients of all ages including those over 65.
