This gorgeous client is still early in her skin journey, and her progress so far has been incredible. I’m absolutely thrilled for her and the changes we’re seeing already.

From the beginning, my focus has been on improving her skin health as a whole, while addressing the different factors contributing to her oil production, breakouts and congestion, inflammation and redness, pigmentation and uneven complexion.

Already, the change is significant. There has been a noticeable reduction in excess oil, active breakouts and congestion, alongside smoother texture and a much more even skin tone. Her skin overall looks less inflamed, healthier and more balanced.

While these are the changes we can see, there is so much more happening within the skin at a cellular level. Improving skin health means understanding how the skin is functioning, what may be influencing those processes, and how they relate to the concerns presenting in the skin. At MiSkin, I take this wider view, considering skin physiology alongside the influence of lifestyle, environment and overall wellbeing, rather than looking at a concern in isolation.

Her treatment programme has progressed alongside her skin, incorporating deep cleansing facials and extractions, peels and LED, layered peels, and now microneedling. Each stage has been carefully considered according to what her skin needs at the time, rather than following a one-size-fits-all treatment plan.

We’re still early in her journey, with plenty more to come, but what a beautiful transformation to celebrate already. 😍😍

That glazed, glossy finish is Synergie Skin’s Tridation B, a replenishing, brightening and soothing mask that was one of several masks selected for this lovely client’s skin throughout her facial.

Masks are an important part of how MiSkin facials are tailored. Different masks are selected to target different skin needs, helping to calm sensitivity, replenish hydration, support healthy skin barrier function, balance congestion, or provide restorative and regenerating support.

And it’s not always just one. Masks can be layered, used selectively across different areas of the face, or applied one after another at different stages of the facial. They can also be incorporated alongside LED, depending on what the skin needs.

For this client, the overall focus was on calming sensitivity, restoring hydration and supporting healthy skin barrier function.

A slightly different one from me today. 🤍

An unexpected trip to ED recently gave me a lot to think about - stress, capacity, our bodies and, inevitably, our skin.

I actually sat on this post for a while and wasn’t sure whether I wanted to share it. A friend encouraged me to, because you never really know who might need to hear it.

We see such small pieces of each other’s lives, especially through an algorithm. Someone can be happy, excited, building something they’re incredibly proud of and doing really well, while life is also asking a lot of them.

And I think even some of our hardest periods can leave us with something valuable - a little more perspective, a lot more gratitude, and lessons we probably wouldn’t have learnt otherwise.

This one is a little more personal than my usual posts, but it also touches on something I talk about with clients all the time.

Maybe this opens up a few conversations of its own. And just so nobody worries after reading all of that - I’m doing great, Billy is doing okay, the volume has turned down a little, and MiSkin is still very much my happy place. ✨
