Orbicularis Oculi, the main muscle we talk about around the eye

It’s a circular muscle that sits around the eye and is an important one I’m thinking about when assessing the upper and lower face.

Every time you smile, squint, laugh or even blink, this muscle is working. Over time, all of that movement contributes to the development of dynamic lines around the eyes - aka crow’s feet.

But here’s the important part: these lines aren’t JUST about the muscle.

Skin quality, collagen loss, sun exposure, facial structure and the way someone naturally expresses all play a role in the development of these lines too.

This is why treating the area isn’t always a case of “find the muscle and inject it.” Some need both cheek support and skinboosters too.

Understanding the anatomy, how the muscle functions and how it interacts with the surrounding structures is what allows us to create a treatment that looks soft, natural and balanced - rather than simply trying to remove muscle movement.
