Hair wash night used to feel like a full-contact sport in our house 😅
But after nearly 20 years as a hairstylist and being a mum, I’ve learnt a few tricks that make washing kids hair SO much easier (for everyone involved 👏)

✨ Here are my go-to tips for stress-free wash nights:

💦 Brush BEFORE the bath
Always detangle dry or damp hair before shampooing — wet knots tighten and become harder (and more painful) to remove.

🫧 Use less shampoo than you think
Most mums are using WAY too much product. A small amount worked through the scalp is all you need.

🎶 Turn it into a routine they expect
Songs, bubbles, a special towel, or letting them hold the shower head can make a huge difference.

🚿 Focus shampoo on the scalp only
The ends don’t need scrubbing — the shampoo rinsing through is enough to clean them without drying them out.

💖 Condition = less tears
A good conditioner or detangling spray helps prevent post-bath battles and makes brushing SO much easier.

🪮 Start brushing from the ends upward
This is the BIG one. Never start from the roots unless you want instant drama 😂
