During the warmer months, there tends to be an increase in grass seed inflicted problems. Dogs can easily pick up these nasty grass seeds when they are out on their daily walk.
Grass seeds act like small spears, & can lodge in many places on your pet. They can then migrate under the skin, causing irritation, infections, & in some cases, can also be fatal.

Here are some tips for avoiding Grass Seeds:

🌱 Prevent your pet from areas of tall grass. Be careful in reserves and paddocks.

🌱 Dogs with long coats are more susceptible as the seeds get caught in their coat more easily. Inspecting your dog after a walk and removing any seeds will also help reduce the likelihood of any penetrating the skin.

🌱 Keep hair around ears and paws short to minimise the risk of grass seeds sticking and burrowing into the skin.
