You wanted to protect one child from bashing, pero in the process, did you ever think about how your words could affect your other child? The child you also have a responsibility to protect?

Hindi naman kailangan maging collateral damage ang isang anak para maprotektahan ang isa.

If you really wanted to protect your daughter, there were ways to do it without dragging Jen back into an issue that could have been handled privately. You could have reached out to the people involved. You could have chosen silence. You could have protected your child without reopening old wounds.

And to every father out there who has moved on and built a new family: please don't forget the children you had before your new life began.

Your new child deserves protection, yes. But so does the child you left behind.

Anak mo silang lahat. And they shouldn't have to pay the price for decisions made by adults.

Ang anak ay dapat pinalalaki para maging independent, hindi para maging retirement plan.

Oo, maganda ang makapagbigay sa magulang. Maganda ang makabawi. Maganda ang "Ma, Pa, ako na." ❤️

Pero sana kusang loob yun—not because may utang na loob na kailangang bayaran habang-buhay.

Hindi dapat maging:
"Anak kita, kaya obligasyon mong buhayin ako."

Mas maganda sana yung:
"Anak kita, kaya ginawa ko ang lahat para matuto kang tumayo sa sarili mong paa."

From us children, ang pag give back sa magulang should come from gratitude and willingness—not guilt, pressure, or entitlement.

Kaya bago tayo manghusga kay Carlos and Eldrew, o kahit kaninong anak na pinipiling bumukod:

Tanungin muna natin: Pinalaki ba natin ang anak para magkaroon ng sariling buhay… o pinalaki natin sila para maging retirement plan natin?

Because at the end of the day, anak ang pinalaki mo—not investment na may guaranteed return.
