Tell them truth

There are moments in life when even the strongest believers feel tired, empty, and overwhelmed. When the battles are too heavy, the prayers feel unanswered, and the silence seems louder than the promises. Elijah, a mighty prophet of God, once reached a point where he said, “Lord, I want to die.” It wasn’t weakness—it was exhaustion. It wasn’t lack of faith—it was human pain.
This reminds us that depression is real. Anxiety is real. Emotional exhaustion is real. Even God’s servants in the Bible experienced deep discouragement. But the story did not end in despair. God did not condemn Elijah. He did not shame him. Instead, He provided rest, nourishment, and gentle reassurance. He gave him strength to live.
The same God who met Elijah in his lowest moment still meets His children today. When you feel like giving up, when your heart is heavy and your mind is weary, remember this: your pain is seen, your tears are counted, and your life still has purpose. Feelings may change. Seasons may shift. But God remains constant.
You are not weak for feeling tired. You are not faithless for struggling. You are human. And in your humanity, God draws near.
Depression may be real. But so is God. Anxiety may be real. But so is hope. Dark nights may be real. But so is the morning.
Hold on. Rest if you must. Cry if you need to. But don’t let go of the One who holds you. The same God who strengthened Elijah will strengthen you too.
