EXTENSION OF CLASS SUSPENSION
Friday, August 7, 2026

In view of the prevailing weather conditions brought about by the intensified Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) enhanced by Tropical Storm MAYMAY, and upon the recommendation of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), in-person classes at all levels, both in public and private schools, in the Municipality of Bugasong are hereby suspended today, Friday, August 7, 2026.

This measure is being implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils, students, teachers, and school personnel.

Please stay safe mga kasimanwa and continue to monitor official advisories for further updates.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: Following the meeting of all Integrated Social Forestry (ISF) upland farmer beneficiaries on Agroforestry Farm Development, as spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (OPENRO) Ma. Vivian T. Marfil, through its Forest Management Services Division at the Barangay Hall, Yapu, Bugasong, Antique, today, August 6, a tree growing activity commenced in the identified ISF sites.

Present was MENRO Designate Jennifer Rose A. Tatoy, with the continued support of Municipal Mayor Victor R. Condez in strengthening local environmental governance.

: The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) RO VI, through its Antique Irrigation Management Office, and in coordination with the Municipal Government of Bugasong, joined the Inauguration Ceremony of Solar Pump Irrigation Project dubbed as Pangalcagan Communal Irrigation System (CIS) at Brgy. Pangalcagan, Bugasong, Antique, today, August 6.

The Pangalcagan CIS is funded through the NIA’s Establishment of Groundwater Pump Irrigation Projects (EGPIP) CY 2025 amounting to ₱15M, covering 15 hectares, aimed to provided reliable irrigation water, increase agricultural productivity, reduce irrigation operational cost, promote renewable energy utilization, and support sustainable and climate resilient agriculture.

SB Member Greg R. Togonon attended the event, representing Municipal Mayor Victor R. Condez, along with PB Hernanie P. Moreno, Kgwd. Edsel Antoy, and IA Pres. Ramson G. Bayog.

In attendance were Kenneth F. Latoza, IDO-B, Engr. Jonel B. Borres, Regional Manager A, NIA R6, and Engr. Bernard N. Castellano, Division Manager A.

Also, a heartfelt thanks to Mantac family represented by Renalyn Mantac Bayog for donating the land.

Moderate to Heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over (Altavas), (SapiAn, Ivisan, RoxasCity, Mambusao, Jamindan), (Barbaza, LauaAn, Bugasong, Valderrama), (Anilao, Banate, BarotacViejo), (Sibunag, NuevaValencia), (CityOfVictorias, Manapla, CadizCity, SagayCity, Murcia, HinobaAn and Candoni) within the next 30 minutes to an hour.

The above conditions are being experienced in (Sebaste, Culasi, Tibiao, Patnongon), (Libacao, Madalag, Malinao, Lezo, Numancia, Kalibo, Banga, NewWashington, Balete, Batan), (BarotacNuevo), (Jordan, SanLorenzo, Buenavista), (BagoCity, BacolodCity, CityOfTalisay, SilayCity, EnriqueB.Magalona and CityOfSipalay) which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates.
