This afternoon, in celebration of World Mental Health Day 2026 and in continuation of our Mental Health Awareness Month observance, the Cauayan District Hospital – Adolescent Health Development Program (AHDP) conducted a health education session on Mental Health Awareness for the Grade 12 STEM students of Cauayan National High School, Poblacion, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.
This meaningful learning activity provided our students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of mental health, recognize the importance of emotional well-being, and become more aware of how to care for themselves and others. 💚

As our young people navigate the challenges of school, relationships, family, and personal growth, it is important to remind them that taking care of their mental health is just as important as taking care of their physical health.

Let us continue to create a safe and supportive environment where young people feel heard, understood, respected, and encouraged to speak up when they are struggling. A simple conversation, a listening ear, and a genuine act of kindness can make a meaningful difference in someone's life. Remember, asking for help is not a sign of weakness—it is a courageous step toward healing and hope. 💚

❤️🧠 MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS: CARING FOR THE MIND, JUST AS WE CARE FOR THE BODY 💚🧠

Today, as we continue our observance of Mental Health Month, the Cauayan District Hospital – Adolescent Health Development Program (AHDP), together with our health education partner, the Cauayan Primary Care Facility, conducted a Mental Health Awareness Class for the students of the Cauayan Information and Communication Technology Center, managed by the Municipal Government of Cauayan, including our Senior High School immersion students.

This health education session provided our young learners with valuable insights about mental health, emotional well-being, recognizing signs of emotional distress, and the importance of seeking help when needed. 🫶
For our young people, understanding mental health is not only about knowing what mental health problems are—it is also about learning that it is okay to talk, it is okay to ask for help, and it is okay not to be okay.

💚 Our goal is simple: SPREAD AWARENESS, BREAK THE STIGMA, AND ENCOURAGE OUR YOUTH TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR MENTAL WELL-BEING.

As mental health concerns continue to rise, this month reminds us that mental health deserves the same attention, care, and compassion that we give to our physical health.
Let us create a community where every young person feels heard, understood, supported, and valued. 🌱

Another remarkable milestone for youth health and empowerment! The Cauayan District Hospital - Adolescent Health and Development Program, in partnership with the Cauayan Primary Care Facility and the Pag-asa Youth Movement of the Philippines (PYAP) - Barangay Inayauan, successfully facilitated "Adlaw sang Pamatan-on" in celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan! 🎉

This impactful event brought together passionate youth and student leaders from:
📍 Barangay Inayauan & Barangay Linaon
📍 Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) leaders from Eva J. Montilla Farm School, Florentina Recto Memorial National High School, and St. Joseph High School Inc.

💡 Key Event Highlights:

Adolescent Health That Matters & STI (HIV/AIDS) Awareness – Informative sessions equipping our young leaders with essential knowledge about their health and well-being.

Voluntary HIV Testing – Promoting proactive health checks and safe choices.

Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Awareness – Essential safety and emergency response training.

The Safe S*x Pledge – A powerful moment of commitment where participants pledged to prioritize their education, avoid premature sexual activity, prevent teenage pregnancy, and focus on their bright futures. 📚✨

Our youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow—they are leading today! A huge thank you to all the organizers, partner agencies, school heads, and youth participants who made this event a resounding success. Together, we build a healthier, safer, and more informed generation! 💙💪
