1. People mind their own business
No chismis. No pakialam. Everyone respects personal space.
2. Small talk is everywhere
Even strangers will say “Hi, how are you?” — and they actually expect a response 😅
3. DIY is life
You clean, fix, assemble… everything. No “pa-help” culture like back home.
4. Self-service is normal
Even at petrol stations — you do it yourself. No attendants.
5. Gravy is not free 😭
Something so small… but such a big shock.
6. Work-life balance is REAL
When work ends, it ends. Family and rest come first.
7. Coffee is a daily ritual ☕
Not optional. It’s part of the lifestyle.
8. You check the weather every day
Because it can change FAST — parang mood lang 😅
9. Rules are strictly followed
Especially on the road. No warnings — fines come straight to your mailbox.
10. Being on time is a MUST
Late = disrespectful. Simple as that.
11. Budgeting is a MUST 💸
No unnecessary spending. Every dollar counts — rent, bills, groceries… you learn to prioritise.
12. Lunch box is life 🥡
You bring your own food and eat anywhere — sa bench, sa car, kahit saan. Tipid and practical.
13. Loneliness hits different
No extended family, no instant support system. You really learn to be strong.
