Last year, I decided my family and I deserve better for our skin care. So I studied and learned how to make all-natural soaps using cold process technique. Cold process soap bars are made using a combination of oils or fats and lye. Lye sounds a little scary, but all the caustic qualities of the lye are removed during the saponification process. It also requires 6-8 weeks of curing so the soap gets hard and doesn’t melt easily. The result is handmade soaps that are rich in antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients that are essential to healthy skin. For scents, we use essential oils so they smell clean, light and natural – never overpowering like those commercially made. We only use natural colorants and clays so they also have a beautiful natural hue of nature. Just want to share with you my bubbly babies because I’m so proud of each and every one of them! They’re all handmade and hand cut so no two bars look exactly alike. Let’s change the world with healthier skin, one person at a time!

One of our goals this year was to create more opportunities for learning beyond our regular workshops—to partner with schools, organizations, and companies in exploring sustainable, handcrafted products.
Today felt like a little win. 🤍
We had the pleasure of welcoming members of Southern Luzon State University for a private Basic Soap Making workshop at Habonera Studio.
They made the early trip from Lucban, Quezon to join us this morning, and headed straight back after the class. We truly appreciate the time, effort, and intention they put into learning with us.🫶

One big slab. So many bars. ✨
There’s something so satisfying about unmolding a soap slab and watching it transform—one cut at a time—into individual bars.
But behind that satisfying moment is a lot of planning: the right mold size, batter volume, cutting layout, a little room for error... and lots of prayers! 😅
From pouring to cutting, soapmaking is very much a slow and intentional process.
And honestly? We never get tired of this part. 🤍

3 Things to Know Before Scaling Up to a Bigger Soap Mold ✨️
1. Your recipe needs to be recalculated.
Don’t simply multiply your old batch. Recalculate your oils, lye, and liquid based on the actual mold capacity and your desired fill level.
2. Bigger batches behave differently.
A larger volume of soap batter can retain more heat and may move through trace differently. Your usual fragrance, additives, and mixing technique may need adjustments.
3. Your workflow needs to scale too.
A bigger mold means more batter to mix, pour, unmold, cut, trim, and cure. Make sure you have the equipment, workspace, and time to handle the entire batch—not just the pour.
Because in soapmaking, scaling up isn’t simply about making more. It’s about learning how to make more well. 🤍
