What is cervical funneling?

Cervical funneling or cervical incompetence refers to a painless spontaneous dilation of the cervix and is a common cause of second trimester pregnancy failure. https://radiopaedia.org/articles/cervical-incompetence

This patient is 26 weeks pregnant or almost at the end of her 2nd trimester and observed a sign of funneling in cervix. Though a cervical incompetence can be seen through transabdominal ultrasound however we recommend to undergo for multiple observation such as transvaginal, translablial or transperineal sonography since it is the most commonly used to assess the cervix.
