From the catastrophic floods and landslides in Nepal and the Philippines, to the earthquakes that devastated communities in Japan and Venezuela, from the burning forests of Canada, Algeria, and Europe, to the floods in India and the growing threat of El Niño in Peru...families are losing their homes, livelihoods, loved ones, and hope.
Not every natural disaster is caused by humanity, but the destruction of forests, pollution of our oceans, overconsumption of natural resources, and continued warming of our planet are making many environmental threats more severe. Mother Earth is not asking us merely to watch...SHE is calling us to act.

This is why the advocacy of Mrs. Earth International “Nurturing the Mothers Who Nurture the Earth”...is more important than ever.

Women and mothers are the first teachers of every generation. When we educate and empower them, we nurture families that understand conservation, compassion, responsibility, and sustainable living. Through their influence, we can raise children who will not simply inherit the Earth, but protect and restore it.

Let us refuse what harms, reduce what we consume, reuse what we can, recycle responsibly, and recover what has been lost. The future of our children depends upon the choices we make today.

We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors,we hold it in trust for the generations yet to come.
