37 years. A lot of lessons have been taught—some easy, some painful, and some I had to learn the hard way.

As I step into my 38th year, I find myself appreciating the simple things more. As I grow older, I’ve come to appreciate life, love, and time differently. Life isn’t just about what we accomplish, but who we share it with, the moments we hold close, and how we spend the time we’re given.

There are three lessons I’m bringing with me:

1. Choose your battles.

There are so many things I used to feel the need to fight for. But getting “older” has taught me that I only have so much energy—and I’d rather spend it on what truly matters. 😂 Sometimes, protecting your peace is more important than proving a point.

2. Keep your circle smaller.

I’ve learned that not every friendship is meant to last forever. People change, seasons change, and sometimes friendships are tested by time. And that’s okay. We can’t force people to stay. I’ve learned to appreciate those who do, love the people who matter, and be grateful for the memories of those who were once part of the journey.

3. I wouldn’t be able to do this without God.

He is my anchor when life gets heavy, my roots that keep me grounded and growing, and my light when I don’t know which way to go.

I’m deeply thankful for my family and friends who understand me, especially on the days when I’m not quite my usual self. Thank you for staying, understanding, and giving me grace.

And most of all, thank You, Lord, for giving me the strength—both physical and mental—to navigate this beautiful, sometimes crazy, late-30s chapter. 🙏

At 38, I’m learning that life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. I want to live more intentionally, love more deeply, and value my time more wisely.

Here’s to choosing peace, keeping the right people close, trusting God, and appreciating every moment I’m blessed enough to have.
