A Day in Our Life in Simbang Gabi as Altar Servers reminder:

DO’s — What We Must Practice

✓ Prepare your alarm clocks to avoid being late for the Simbang Gabi or Misa de Gallo Mass.

✓ Prepare your vestments ahead of time. Keep them clean and neat your attire reflects your respect for the sacred celebration.

✓ Always set up the sacred vessels before Mass and handle them with reverence. Clean them properly after Mass to maintain their dignity and safety.

✓ Enter the church with a prepared heart. Pray, focus, and be aware that you are serving Christ, not yourself.

✓ Follow your assigned schedule. Serving is not just about you give others a chance to serve too.

✓ Be solemn and mindful in your actions. Move with purpose and reverence, not with rush or unnecessary gestures.

✓ Serve regularly, not only during seasons. Avoid being a “seasonal server.” Be present even on ordinary Sundays.

✓ Stay focused on Christ. Leave distractions behind especially emotional or relationship-related concerns. Christ is your reason for serving.

DON’Ts — What We Must Avoid

• Do not sleep during Simbang Gabi or Misa de Gallo. This time is sacred and deserves full attention.

• Do not use mobile phones during Mass. Keep your focus on the altar and maintain proper posture in the sanctuary.

• Do not gossip in the sacristy. You are there to prepare spiritually and serve reverently.

• Do not make unnecessary movements on the altar. Avoid actions that cause distraction.

• Do not seek attention. Remember: you are an altar server, not an attraction.

• Avoid showing off or making ungraceful gestures just to gain notice. Your service should lead people closer to God, not to yourself.

• Do not let crushes or relationships affect your service. Your purpose on the altar is Christ alone.
