Many autistic children aren’t ignoring you on purpose - they’re processing the world differently. 💜
In busy classrooms and fast conversations, there can be a huge pressure to respond quickly.
But autistic children may need:
• more processing time
• fewer words
• less pressure
Fast responses are not the same as understanding.
When we slow down, give space, and reduce overwhelm, we help children feel safe enough to engage.
