This medical infographic illustrates the symptoms of L4 nerve root impingement along the lumbar spine.

A highlighted pathway shows how nerve compression at the L4-L5 level extends down the leg.

Key symptoms mapped on the body include:
Back Pain: Located around the lower lumbar region (L1–L5).

Knee Weakness: Linked to a quadriceps deficit.

Shin Pain: Affecting the anterolateral side of the lower leg.

Foot Sensory Changes: Resulting in numbness or tingling along the medial side of the foot.
Insets provide detailed anatomical views of the spine and nerve root compression.

🟡Many people think numb hands come from poor circulation…

But sometimes the nerves are getting compressed much higher — near the neck and collarbone.

This condition is often linked to thoracic outlet compression.

The nerves and blood vessels traveling into the arm pass through a very tight space between the neck, ribs, and shoulder muscles.

When posture collapses and muscles tighten:

* nerves become irritated
* blood flow may decrease
* shoulder tension increases
* arm symptoms begin appearing
You may notice:
• numb fingers
• cold hands
• arm heaviness
• shoulder tightness
• tingling during sleep

Long hours sitting, poor posture, and repetitive movements can slowly overload this region.
Small daily changes can help:
✅ improve posture
✅ reduce neck tension
✅ restore shoulder mobility
✅ improve breathing mechanics
✅ decrease nerve irritation
Your symptoms may not be starting in the hand…
they may be starting near the neck.
