What you’re looking at is a full platinum silicone baby created for the 🌈PROUD🌈series HBO Max Polska as the on-screen double for little Ala 💛

From the initial sculpt to molding, casting, silicone running, patching, painting, skin detailing and final finishing, nearly every step of this project was completed by Andrzej and me. I was also responsible for hand-punching every single hair, one by one.

The craziest part?

We had less than four weeks to build the entire baby from scratch.

Anyone who has worked in practical effects knows how ambitious that deadline was. Every wrinkle, pore, skin texture and tiny detail had to be finished under intense time pressure, leaving almost no room for mistakes.

Our silicone double was used whenever scenes couldn’t be safely or practically filmed with the real child.

The greatest compliment for any practical effect is when no one realizes it’s there.
