📍Gaza | 💔 A Mother’s Plea

My name is Rafah. I was born and raised in Gaza.

In the 2008/2009 war, I lost three of my sisters. I was just a child. We had no electricity, no heating, barely any food — but I still felt safe in the arms of my family.

Today, I am a mother myself, raising my son Karam in Canada. Every night, I tuck him into a warm bed, with a full belly and a heart full of love.

But mothers in Gaza no longer have that right.
Why is motherhood sacred here, but stripped away there?

In November 2023, I lost 14 family members in a single airstrike.
Seven were children — the youngest was still a toddler.

This is not just war.
This is genocide.

👉 Since October 7, over 17,400 children have been killed in Gaza.
UNICEF says more than 50,000 children have been killed or injured.

These are not numbers. They are futures. They are love.
They are children just like mine — just like yours.

On this blessed Eid, I pray for love, hope, and peace to reach the people of Gaza—especially the children and babies who deserve to feel the joy of this holiday.

Rest in peace to those who lost their lives before our eyes, standing resilient until their last breath. Blessings to the babies who will carry on the unwavering strength and resilience of Palestine.

They deserve to celebrate Eid with new gifts, sweets, and all the blessings this day brings. May their smiles be restored, their laughter echo freely, and their hearts be filled with peace and safety.
