The first work that you’ll see as you enter the gallery: Hourglass, a group of five wall sculptures that formalize the passing of time through the materiality and appearance of plywood.

Felipe Cohen uses the lateral sides of stacked plywood sheets to form layers that evoke sand flowing through an hourglass. Moreover, the frontal and lateral views of the five pieces complement one another.

On view through July 25 in the solo exhibition Felipe Cohen: Concretion.

A large-scale public art installation by Pavel Braila has been unveiled in Vienna. Titled "Your Happiness is in Your Own Hands”, it wraps around the Ringturm, the headquarters of Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein.

Made up of 30 printed netting sheets, the 4,000-sqm artwork shows a colourful choreography of hand movements that serves as a guide to preparing sarmale. Using a minimalist visual language, Pavel Brăila puts the focus on the stories that are connected with the dish. For him, sarmale are closely linked to the experience of migration and living abroad. Preparing them is a gesture of belonging and a reminder of home.

A long-standing initiative of Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein, this is the 18th artistic wrapping of the Ringturm. It will be on view until the end of September.

NOW OPEN—Felipe Cohen: Concretion

An exhibition of new reliefs and sculptures, Concretion deepens Felipe Cohen’s pursuit of giving tangible form to time, natural light, the atmosphere of a place, and the interplay between them. Using an artistic lexicon grounded in geometric forms, economy of means, and poetic sensibility, Cohen seeks to solidify fluid states, materialize abstract or evanescent phenomena, and transform moments into memories. Embedded within his work is an understanding of abstraction not as a cold or purely rational language, but as a vehicle that engages the viewer’s imagination and emotions.

Sneak peek into the upcoming exhibition Felipe Cohen: Concretion

Transparent vs. opaque, fragile vs. resistant – the tension between contrasting materials is evident in sculptures such as Remaining Light. Cohen carefully orchestrates the interaction between light and object to create optical effects such as light fossilized inside a lamp.

Take a closer look this Friday. Opening reception: June 19, 6:00 p.m.

Sneak peek into the upcoming exhibition Felipe Cohen: Concretion

The solo show will feature a series of new reliefs that approach light as a fluid body and explore its effects in space. For this series, Cohen develops a modular vocabulary of lines and shapes through which he evokes different landscapes, topographies, and objects associated with space and time.

Join us this Friday to discover more. Opening reception: June 19, 6:00 p.m.
