We are excited to announce that the next issue of CIDESCO International’s LINK magazine will be our 100th issue. This milestone coincides with CIDESCO’s 80th anniversary, making it a very special moment for our organisation and our global membership.

We would love you to be part of the celebrations.

We’re inviting members around the world to share their stories, memories, experiences and ideas for the future. You might like to contribute on one of the following themes:

1. My CIDESCO Story – Why did you become a CIDESCO member? What has CIDESCO meant to your career, and what is your favourite CIDESCO memory?
2. 80 Years of Beauty – How have beauty, spa and wellness evolved during your career? You could reflect on treatments and technology, the role of the therapist, client expectations, or other changes you have witnessed.
3. Looking Ahead – What do you think beauty, spa and wellness will look like in 2046, when CIDESCO celebrates its 100th anniversary?
4. Celebrating the People Behind CIDESCO – Nominate someone who has influenced your career, such as a teacher, mentor, colleague, graduate or fellow member, and tell us why they have made a difference.
5. What Do ‘Professional Standards’ Mean to You? – What does professional excellence mean to you, and how has being part of CIDESCO influenced your approach to professional standards?

Roberto will delve into how a clear purpose, strong values, and a forward-thinking vision can significantly influence customer loyalty and set your brand apart in the competitive beauty industry.

In today’s highly competitive beauty market, where treatments, technologies and products are increasingly similar, true differentiation no longer comes from what salons offer, but from how they connect with clients. This presentation explores how building a strong brand identity rooted in purpose, values and vision is essential to creating lasting customer loyalty.

Using the “Start With Why” framework, it emphasizes the importance of communicating not just services (WHAT) and methods (HOW), but the deeper purpose (WHY) behind a brand. When businesses clearly define their purpose, they move beyond price-based competition and position themselves as trusted advisors and transformation experts.

The presentation also highlights the role of emotional connection in client retention. By addressing not only external, visible problems but also internal emotional needs and deeper philosophical concerns, beauty professionals can foster stronger relationships and trust. The StoryBrand framework is introduced to reposition the client as the hero and the professional as the guide, reinforcing empathy and authority as key drivers of loyalty.

Ultimately, the core message is that clients do not buy treatments: they buy transformation. By consistently aligning purpose, values, communication and personal branding, beauty businesses can shift from transactional interactions to meaningful, long-term relationships based on trust and emotional loyalty.
