Skinome

A few days ago, we were invited to Patent Day to talk about something we spend a lot of time on at Skinome: research and innovation in skincare.
 
More specifically, we shared some of the work behind two technologies we’ve developed and for which we’ve filed patent applications.
 
• One is our self-preserving system, which allows us to formulate skincare without traditional preservatives.
• The other is our Mix-Activate Technology, developed to protect sensitive active ingredients and keep them stable until the moment you use them.
 
Why does this matter?
 
Because some of the things we want from skincare are surprisingly difficult to combine. Effective active ingredients can be sensitive. Living bacteria need very specific conditions. And removing preservatives creates entirely new formulation challenges.
 
Solving those problems is a big part of what happens behind the scenes in our lab in Stockholm. So being invited to Patent Day to share some of that work was a proud moment for our team. And a nice reminder that skincare research can still lead to completely new ways of doing things.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming a lovely group of beauty and health creators to our office and lab in Hornstull, Stockholm.

We got to introduce our new range for acne-prone skin, share more about skin health and give a glimpse into how our freshly made skincare is actually made. For us, these moments are also an opportunity to share more about why we do things differently and the research and thinking behind it.
