Early 🍊Balayage CNY preparation🍊 What are the important things to take note of for such hair? Let's discuss some important points below -

After doing a balayage, or any colored hair, it is always important to avoid any form of heat, especially hot water. Not only does the hot water strips the hair of its natural oil, but it also causes dryness and adds to the existing damage.

The hot water will lift the hair cuticle and this directly affects the texture of the hair and makes it more frizzy.

The hair cuticles are similar to little pockets that deposit the dye inside, so when it is lifted, the dye will escape, and guess what, the color fades.

On the other hand, cold water will help to smoothen the cuticle, reducing frizz and enhancing manageability. With cold water smoothing the cuticle and not lifting it, that minimizes dye escape.

Product wise, it would be highly recommended to use something suitable for colored hair, for example, sulfate-free shampoo because this is less harsh on the hair and the chemicals inside regular shampoo might cause the color to fade too.

Some might directly use a purple shampoo to maintain the hair color, which is okay if the objective is to reduce the brassiness (yellow). However, if the hair color is, for example, Red, a red pigment shampoo might be more suitable instead of a purple shampoo.

A pigment shampoo is a hair shampoo that has a specific color dye in it, for example, we have a Ruby Red pigment shampoo so this would be suitable for ladies who are doing red hair.

Going back to the topic, after the shampoo, it is also important to use a suitable hair mask as the hair might have lost quite a bit of moisture in the coloring process.

The most important thing in coloring is mainly heat, as long as we keep heat out of the equation, the hair will not be fading faster than what it is intended to last for.
