When you think of the High Tatras, you might picture majestic peaks, mountain trails and crystal-clear mountain lakes. 💙 With more than 100 mountain lakes, these landscapes are one of the defining natural treasures of Slovakia. Among the best known are Štrbské Pleso, Popradské Pleso and Zelené Pleso.

🏰 Hrušov Castle – a hidden ruin in the heart of the Tribeč Mountains
Looking for places where history and nature come together? 🌿 Discover Hrušov Castle, a medieval ruin perched on Skalka Hill in the Tribeč Mountains, near Topoľčianky and Zlaté Moravce.
The Gothic castle was probably built in the 13th century and once guarded an important trade route. In 1708, it was captured and destroyed during the anti-Habsburg uprisings. Today, its impressive ruins invite you to explore a little piece of Slovakia’s history. 🏰
📍 You can reach the castle by hiking trails from Skýcov, Topoľčianky or Jedľové Kostoľany. Along the way, you’ll enjoy the surrounding forests and beautiful views of the Slovak countryside. 🌲

🎨✨ Did you know that Andy Warhol has roots in Slovakia?
In the small town of Medzilaborce, in northeastern Slovakia, you can discover a museum dedicated to one of the most influential artists of the 20th century – Andy Warhol. 🇸🇰

Warhol’s parents came from the Medzilaborce region, where his family had Rusyn roots. Today, this part of Slovakia offers a fascinating connection between the world of pop art and the artist’s family heritage.
