Somewhere In a village off the beaten track is a little Hut ! 🛖
I spent a week here with the medicine man 2 bush hunters and their dogs, this was my sunset goodbye pic!
The medicine man uses his powers to invoke good spirits so he can un-tie magic spells cast by other juju doctors! He uses various leafs and roots from the surrounding forest to perform his tasks !
While The hunters take shifts in hunting days and nights!
Their primary prize catch is the the Buffalo, Antelopes or wild boars, Which they sell for good money! Secondary is other nocturnal mammals like the wild cat and porcupine! They also hunt birds such as the guinea fouls bush fouls and pigeons mostly to feed on! In one instance one of them had shot a cat fish from the nearby river that must have weight at least 12kg!
They were some of the most interesting people i have come across!Especially the medicine man!
I spent most of my nights talking to him! He told me countless stories of how he has cured so many people and that most of the spells he unties were cast by jealous lovers seeking some type of revenge on their partners ! But what impressed me the most was not his unsubstantiated stories but how well trained his dogs were ! Sometimes half way into a conversation we would hear a voice in the distance! He would quicly point his torch to the bushes and whisper in his native language to his dogs who would imdeiately bolt to towards the noise, scout the area and return! 🇸🇱 (Names and locations withheld !)
