I cannot fully express my pride in the success of Kakuma Reading Lenses. This Community-Based Organisation (CBO) was primarily established by a dedicated team, including Luka Gatwech (the principal co-founder), Simon Lokwang, Francis Otieno, and myself.Following intensive training by the Refugee Consortium of Kenya (RCK) in 2024, our organisation was officially licensed to pursue its objectives without impediment. Having previously served as the Deputy Secretary, I am deeply honoured to announce that this year, 2026, I have been appointed as one of the seven members completing the Board of Directors.I look forward to reconnecting with all of you to share crucial updates with our community family.

I write this today as someone who had the privilege of witnessing the union of two remarkable individuals who have profoundly shaped my life: Nyajuok Deng and Gatbel Gatwech Top. Though our material rewards in life may still be growing, the support and kindness Gatbel has extended to me remains truly incomparable.
