It opens bright, with bergamot and Sichuan pepper giving a crisp lift. Then the heart becomes softer and more refined: rose, saffron, and frankincense moving through warm resin and clear air. The oud here is not heavy or animalic.

The ritual around this scent is simple: wear it when you want to feel refreshed, grounded, and quietly confident.

Like carrying a pocket of silence on skin.

SOTD: Vanilla Oud

For the day when you want warmth, but still need strength. Vanilla Oud more like light, smoke, florals, and vanilla slowly unfolding together. It starts with a little spark from pepper and bergamot, then becomes smoother with 3 natural vanillas layered over each other. Then the oud arrives underneath, slow and steady like a low drumbeat.

That is the part I love most. The sweetness is there, but it has structure. Comfort, but with a backbone.

For the day when you want to feel composed, warm, and quietly powerful. Before a long day, a dinner, or any moment when you want softness without losing presence.

When I was working on Café Mystique, I want to create a rare coffee perfume with movement and depth

In the opening, Kopi Luwak gives the first texture. Clear, roasted, and alive. You can recognize the coffee, but it doesn’t feel flat or sweet. Then frangipani begins to bloom through it. This is where the scent becomes more tropical, more humid, more sensual like coffee carried through flowers and warm air.

Later, the coffee returns in a different form. Not bright anymore, but deeper: Turkish Coffee in the drydown, darker and smoother, wrapped in smoke, warmth, and skin. Oud Siam gives the base its quiet depth. It keeps the fragrance grounded, so the coffee becomes something more mysterious.

I had this idea of looking for the visual world of a scent. Not only the notes, but the color, the atmosphere, the objects, and the places it seems to belong to.

So here is Chypre de Grand in color.

This fragrance was inspired by the classic chypre colognes my great-grandfather used to wear. I always loved that timeless elegance, but I wanted to make it feel alive today, brighter, more textured, and more personal.

For me, Chypre de Grand carries that quiet feeling of being composed without trying too hard. It opens with citrus, then slowly moves into rose, beeswax, moss, woods, and a warmer skin-like depth underneath.

L’Oud Marin, a dark marine oud after the storm

I wanted to imagine what happens about wood after the storm. And the oud returning from the deep ocean. Not a typical marine scent but something that darker. Wetter. More mineral. So this is the 3 main ingredients that lift up the feeling.

The seaweed and kombu give the first texture: salt, dark water, and a raw coastal edge. Then Khazanah Oud comes in. Not as dry wood, but as something cooler and more mineral, almost blue in character. Ambergris is what makes it feel alive on skin. It brings warmth, salt, distance, and that strange oceanic softness that is hard to describe.
