Why don’t we use a blender for our Cold Process Soap?

It’s one of the questions we hear most often in our classes.

The answer is simple: because we believe soap making is an art, not a race.

At Amara Soap Making Class, our Cold Process soap is traditionally hand-stirred. A blender can accelerate the process, but rapid mechanical mixing may contribute to a more uneven or cracked-looking surface as the soap begins to trace.

When we stir by hand, we have time to slow down, observe, and truly experience the transformation—the moment oils, botanicals, and lye solution begin to become something entirely new.

There is something deeply satisfying about watching the soap change beneath your hands.

And yes, it’s also a wonderfully creative way to exercise. A little stirring, a little patience, a little strength—and a lot of love. 🤍
