Did you know that the man who invented the ICEE frozen drink was from Kansas? Businessman Omar Knedlik was a native of Barnes (Washington County). He bought a Dairy Queen franchise in the 1950s, but it didn’t have a soda fountain. Knedlik froze bottles of soft drinks instead. They were so popular with his customers, he began experimenting to develop a machine that would dispense the frozen drink. A few years later, Knedlik patented his first ICEE machine. Stepped out for some extensive dinosaur research! Dinosaur Valley Park, Dinosaur World and Fossil Rim Sanctuary. I hand fed a giraffe! What a fun time. Glen Rose, Texas. I can not pass up time to make memories with the grandkids and daughter.
