There are things that never cross your mind until you become a mom. And then there are things that hit you completely different when you become a mom AGAIN at 35..with an 8 year age gap 😬

I thought I knew so much about motherhood the first time around but this season has opened my eyes to things I never even thought to question..

Like why do so many of the everyday products we bring into our homes need warning labels and child resistant safety caps?

Think about that for a second..

The things we wash our clothes in..clean our countertops with..mop our floors with..the things we use in the very spaces where our kids crawl, play, eat, and grow.

For years, I never gave it much thought. I just bought what I had always bought. I was aware but not overly cautious..until my daughter’s pediatrician told me her hormone issues were from the food I was feeding her, the detergent I was washing her clothes in, and her body wash/hygiene products. Mom guilt is already hard for many of us and then add hearing that on top. That alone made me more intentional about what I was bringing into our home. Then becoming a mom again really opened my eyes to even more…

Finding everyday products that don’t require child resistant caps has been one of the things that really made me stop and pay attention. I can’t change what I didn’t know ten years ago but I can absolutely change what I choose now.

The islands are calling 🏝️

In one week I am going to be relaxing on an island with Drew..kid free..just us and I don’t think we’ve ever looked forward to a trip as much as this one. In the hustle and bustle of life, sports, work, etc it’s hard to find quality time together. We love this season of life with our kids but a vacation together is long overdue🩷

Forever grateful this is our life together..

Over a year ago one of my social media friends reached out and told me I was worth more..she reminded me who I am and what I bring to the table. In seasons of struggle, chaos, confusion, frustration..we need friends who are willing to step in and remind us who we are and what we are capable of. I know God used her to nudge me towards something greater..

For 5 months straight I’ve received a call about being the #1 organization in the company. Here’s the thing though..6 months ago I didn’t care about being number one. I cared about stability and taking care of my family long term..I cared about having something I could proudly and confidently offer someone for generations to come. I cared about my people.

I think a lot about missing the boat and what would have happened if I didn’t reach back out to my friend after telling her no..what would have happened if she let fear override her boldness when I needed it the most. That’s why I won’t ever let fear stand in the way of sharing the testimony of my life.

There’s so much power in your boldness and being able to see something in someone else. That obedience can change the trajectory of so many lives🩷

There’s nothing better than a crisp 70 degrees and a lunch date on a patio 🍁🤎
