Amber Gallegos at Glossed Collective
Hi, I’m Amber
During the day I love to be behind the chair, practicing trends, and making people feel good. Yes, I am crazy.
Hey friends, I’m Amber, I wear many hats in my life; I’m a salon owner @glossedcollective, a natural tone and grey coverage specialist, a mom to two perfectly imperfect kids, and a believer in the power of community and connection. My favorite part of each service is — styling the hair. I love to see the color and cut come together for a beautiful wear-able finish. At night I have a strange love with organization and numbers. There is nothing more satisfying than sitting down at my computer with a cup of coffee and looking over receipts and my bank account.

Gray blending is seriously one of my favorite services, especially for my blondes who don’t want to cover their gray! 🤍
My mom Liz came in today for her twice-a-year highlights! The last time we highlighted her hair was back in April, and if you swipe through, you’ll see that even after SIX months, her color still looked so good!
That’s what I love about gray blending. We’re not trying to cover up her gray or fight her natural color. We’re just adding some brightness and dimension to give her hair a little more depth, make it appear fuller, and brighten everything up!
After highlighting, I used Davines VIEW 6,0 for her root shadow and 9,32 on her ends. I actually love starting her a little deeper because it gives her more dimension and allows her color to soften beautifully over the next several months.
And of course, we had some fun today! I even squeezed in my dad’s haircut while Mom was processing. 😂
If you’re a blonde who’s tired of keeping up with root coverage, gray blending might be exactly what you’re looking for. You can embrace your natural gray AND still feel bright and blonde without being in the salon every 4–6 weeks.

Today I had the privilege of hosting Sal misseri and his assistant Gia at GLOSSED COLLECTIVE | Allen,Texas Hair Salon and what an amazing day of education!
We learned so much about cutting curly hair, but I think my biggest takeaway had nothing to do with hair. Sal talked a lot about getting out of your own head and allowing yourself to get into a more creative mindset, not just behind the chair, but in hair in general.
I had the chance to talk with him about his journey as an educator, what he’s learned along the way, and what makes a great teacher. With my first Davines Retail Science Lab coming up, I shared how excited (and nervous) I’ve been about teaching.
He asked me a really simple question: What’s the purpose of the class? What does Davines actually want you to teach?
And I couldn’t immediately put it into words.
Then Gia shared something about an educator they’d recently had at their salon. It wasn’t about selling someone a product. It was about identifying a need and finding a way to meet it.
And for whatever reason, that just clicked for me today. I’ve heard Angie Hofelich . Davines and Cassie Burleson talk about this so many times, but today it really settled in my brain. Funny how you can hear something over and over, and then one day it just makes sense in a whole new way.
I genuinely love hosting education, meeting other salon owners, and getting to spend time with stylists who love learning as much as I do.
There’s something so special about the Davines community. The educators, the salon owners, the stylists. Everyone is so down to earth, generous with their knowledge, and genuinely enjoyable to be around.
Feeling really grateful for everyone who spent their day with us, for Sal and Gia sharing their knowledge, and for the opportunity to keep learning and growing alongside this community.
I really do love being part of this brand. 🤍
Flashback to when he was here 4 years ago teaching us about Davines Mask and View!
Elizabeth Vanman came in with the prettiest neutral/cool blonde, and we’ve been using her natural gray almost like highlights and just playing around with Davines View . 🤍
But since today is October 1st and officially feels like FALL, we were like… let’s add some warmth for fun. 🍂
We couldn’t decide if we wanted to lean more golden or more copper, so we landed right in the middle.
Roots:
View
7,34 + 10vol
Ends:
View
7,34 20g
8,44 20g
10,34 10g
Honestly, I think it turned out SO pretty. She looks like her 15 year old self!
This is what I love about View. Next time we can go neutral again, cool again, or keep playing with the warmth. This will slowly fade into the prettiest soft strawberry blonde and I’m kind of obsessed. 🍓✨

Taylor came in today for just a cut + Davines conditioning treatment, and her color still looked SO good that a photo had to be documented. 🤍
I love a soft, subtle highlight — the kind of color that grows out beautifully and doesn’t feel like it needs to be constantly maintained.
And Sophie Love | Allen, TX Hairstylist did such a beautiful job with the style
Styled using:
Curling Iron — Bio Ionic 1.25” Long Barrel
Leave-In + Heat Protectant — Beautiful Things Leave-In Mask

I’ve been looking through years of old photos and videos lately.
Skylight. Glossed. So many stylists. So many different seasons.
Some are still beside me. Some went on to build something completely separate from me. Some I still talk to, and some I haven’t talked to in years.
I used to think being a good leader meant creating a place people never wanted to leave.
I don’t think that anymore.
Sometimes you teach someone, challenge them, believe in them, love them, make mistakes with them — and eventually their growth takes them somewhere else.
And sometimes the leaving isn’t pretty.
Maybe they were unhappy with me. Maybe I was unhappy with them. Maybe we both needed something different. I can look back and see places where I could have led better too.
But time has a beautiful way of letting the good become louder than the bad.
Now I look around and see stylists who once stood beside me still behind the chair. Still creating. Still growing. Still building beautiful careers.
And for one little season of their story, I got to be part of that.
I love this 🤍
Because they were part of building me too.
Every stylist who has walked through Skylight or Glossed has taught me something and made me a better leader for the next person.
I hope they can look back and remember a season where they felt seen, supported, believed in and loved — even if that isn’t where our story ended.
Maybe leadership isn’t about how many people you can get to stay.
Maybe it’s about how people grow while your paths cross.
Real leaders build more leaders.
And getting to watch them become who they were meant to become — even from a distance — is one of my favorite parts of this journey. 🤍

My Davines Curly Girl Routine 🤍
I’ve learned that with my curls, it’s all about moisture, weight, and strategic hold. I actually don’t love my curls on day one — they tend to feel smaller and thinner — so my routine is all about getting them to that soft, full, lived-in place I love.
1. LOVE Curl Enhancing CoWash
I like to get my hair wet every day to refresh my curls. I use the CoWash so my scalp and hair feel fresh without doing a full shampoo every day. I also love the little bit of weight it gives my curls.
2. LOVE Curl Conditioner
After I CoWash, I add a little conditioner for extra moisture. My curls can pretty much never have enough moisture.
3. LOVE Curl Hair Mask
About every three days, I actually shampoo with LOVE Curl Shampoo and follow it with the mask instead of my regular conditioner. This is my deeper moisture day.
4. LOVE Curl Cream
This goes EVERYWHERE. Scalp to ends, every day. It gives me the softness, moisture and definition I want without making my curls feel too stiff.
5. Curl Gel Oil
This is where I get strategic. I use it on the areas where I want a little more hold and volume — especially my crown and around my front hairline. I don’t necessarily need that hold everywhere.
6. This Is A Curl Building Serum/Cream
I concentrate this on my ends for even more moisture and softness. Because if you haven’t figured it out yet… for my curls, it’s all about the moisture.
The biggest thing I’ve learned from wearing my natural texture is that there really isn’t one “correct” curly routine. I’ve figured out what makes my curls look and feel the way I like them — soft, moisturized, full and a little lived-in. 🤍
And yes, I really do wet my hair every day. Curly girls, don’t come for me.

Some might say I have a type…
And they’d probably be right.
Soft, dimensional dark blondes, warm, rich ribbons of light, lived-in color that grows out beautifully, movement, shine, and healthy hair.
That’s the kind of beauty I’ll never get tired of creating.
