Some traditions feed more than a family. They feed a community.

A few years ago, our friends Laura & Trent Murphy asked if they could donate Thanksgiving meals to families in need right here in our community. What started as a simple act of kindness has grown into something incredibly meaningful.

Last year, we invited all of you to join in, and together, we donated 43 complete Thanksgiving meals to local families.

This year, we’re making it even easier to give. You can now add a Donated Meal right through our in-store or online ordering forms. Each meal feeds a family of 6–8 and includes a farm-fresh Iowa turkey, homemade sides, pies and bread — 100% Iowa.

With Laura & Trent, the Ankeny Service Center and all of you, we’re working to make sure more families have a seat at the table this Thanksgiving. Because everyone deserves to experience the comfort of a Thanksgiving meal, the joy of gathering around the table and the feeling of being cared for — especially when life makes those things difficult.

Laura & Trent have already kicked things off by donating 20 COMPLETE MEALS this year. ❤️

Last year, we gave 43 families one less thing to worry about and one more reason to gather. Can we do even more this year?!

Thanksgiving is more meaningful when we make sure there’s enough to go around. ❤️

Our friends at Elma Locker & Grocery, Inc. have done the work and sliced up the meat for you. All you have to do is add in your seasoning, veggies and cook it up!
