I remember when “staying connected” meant you actually had to call somebody, go see them, sit on somebody’s porch, or spend real time together.
Now we can know what somebody did all weekend without speaking one word to them.
And I think that has changed relationships more than we realize.
We have access to people without necessarily having relationships with them.
We know what’s happening in their lives, but we may not know how they’re actually doing.
We can watch somebody every day and still not truly know them.
That’s what made me think about today’s question.
Maybe social media didn’t change our ability to connect. Maybe it changed what we’re willing to call connection. 🤔
