If you know, then you know.

Dejsa Junious is a talented all-around artist! In this episode, her and I talk about how she began her career, the inspiration behind her beautiful and meaningful brand, and how she operates her business as one of Atlanta's most in-demand lash artist. Beyond being a successful solo lash artist, Dejsa is a leader in the lash community. I personally love her Black History Month-inspired lash photoshoots and how creative she gets with her content. If you are looking to be inspired by a real one, this episode will not disappoint!

Imagine being a fully booked artist.

What would that mean for you?

Tell me in the comments below.

I remember when I took my first lash training I really had a certain dollar amount I wanted to make each month. Then once I hit that goal it didn’t seem like a lot, so I set the next goal.

Initially I focused so much on money metrics that I missed out on celebrating the fact that I had my time. As a fully booked lash artist, I had days off during the week with my family, control over my schedule, and a work environment that was conductive to my lifestyle and didn’t stress me out.

✨ What does “fully booked” look like for you? And once you reach “fully booked”, what is your next step?

Has this ever happened to you? A client calls with excitement to book an appointment. They ask all the right questions. Then they ask the price.

Silence. They are turned off. Immediately they realize it’s “out of their budget”.

This is what I like to call the price barrier. As a beauty service provider you can help your client overcome this barrier, by communicating your value.

⬆️ Watch this video and let me know in the comments ⬇️ if you’ve ever successfully booked someone EVEN IF they expressed your services were too much.

The moment I realized this, how I handled every client that came through my door changed. Often times I use to confuse being really nice with great customer service. Wrong. It’s important to remember that clients initially come to you for your expertise. The value that you can add to their lives. Prioritizing your professional relationship with them is literally what they are paying you for! Of course they want to talk about the break up, the kids, or their next vacation. You can get to that later. In conversation at the beginning of my appointments I always handle business first. I ask questions like - “so how did you like this set of lashes”, “how are you getting use to your new brows”, or “did you have any questions about your lashes, they look great on you”. Since this topic is brought up first it lets the client know where YOUR priorities are. Control the conversation this way as a start to setting great boundaries with your clientele.

Y’all know I don’t brag, but honey...want to know something I’m really good at? 💁🏽‍♀️

💛 Sliding into DMs and closing a deal.

I love getting to know people and talking to them so this comes natural to me. I want it to feel like second nature to you too!

This episode will give you the strategy you need to sell in the DMs. Selling in the DMs is often so overlooked and neglected by artists. Instead of shying away from DMs or looking at them as annoying, let’s have a mindset shift and look at DMs as a massive opportunity to stand out to your ideal client. I would highly recommend that you encourage conversation in the DMs so that you can turn your cold audience into warm leads who are excited to book!

Have a listen and tell me what you think!

✨This eye opening, painful yet much needed year is over! I could list all the things I accomplished, but for some reason I’m not motivated to do so. Maybe it is because this year was a big reminder that nothing great is done alone and that God is in control.

✨We make plans and he laughs. 🙂

✨I’m so grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been blessed with and all the new genuine relationships I made this year.

✨As I set my goals for 2021, I forced myself to think about more than just making more money.

✨I had to remind myself of my “why” or purpose for doing everything I do.

✨I want to be a source of inspiration for my children. I want to empower other women to start businesses that excite them. I simply want to continue living a full life, because tomorrow isn’t promised.

✨What is your why and reason for walking into 2021 with a smile?

Merry (early) Christmas! 🎄🎅🏾💋Wishing you and yours a day filled with love. ❤️ The Embassy of Canada has the most beautiful Christmas tree in DC. My quick visit was so meaningful, because I’m so happy and thankful for the wonderful friendships and connections I’ve made this year especially with my Canadian loves. I know this year has been hard (to put it simply). I encourage us all to walk with faith, not with fear into 2021.

In this value-packed episode, I have a great talk with Shaquana Miller, CEO of Miller Aesthetics and Co. We discuss her six tips for surviving the busy holiday season. I honestly feel that these tips can be applied to any busy time in our business when more balanced needs to be achieved.

Brows...😍

While lashing is where I started my business, brows are currently my hottest service.

My company tag line is “Beautiful Lashes and Brows”. I came up with it when I felt burnout from lashing and wanted to grow as an artist.

I love the variety that brow artistry brings to my schedule and the difference in clientele. Since my powder brow clients only see me a couple of times then once every year to year and a half there is a different dynamic to our relationship. It’s refreshing.

If you are a lash artist looking to grow and switch things up I would highly recommend looking into adding brow services.
