Sugarcoat’s story began with a grandmother.

She spent her life working as a dishwasher and housekeeper. Her hands were often tired from long days of serving others, yet they always found the strength to care for her family and help raise her grandchildren.

When she passed away, she left behind $5,000.

It wasn’t a large inheritance.

It was a lifetime of hard work, earned with her hands and saved one dollar at a time.

That gift was used to register the Sugarcoat® trademark.

The application was approved quickly, but the little ® has always meant so much more than a legal symbol.

It is a reminder of where Sugarcoat began.

It is a reminder that some of the most meaningful things in life are built through love, sacrifice, and serving others.
