Both methods can give you a sleek, natural-looking ponytail—the difference is how the extensions are installed and how long you want to wear your style.
✨ Bonded Ponytail: Extensions are secured using bonding adhesive. It’s a quicker, more temporary option and perfect if you want the look without committing to longer-term wear.
🪡 Sew-In Ponytail: Extensions are sewn into a secure foundation using thread—no glue needed. It offers a more secure hold and can last longer with proper care.

Locs can have bounce & movement too.
A flexi rod set is a great way to give locs shape, curl and movement. Rod size, wrapping technique, and drying time all play a part in the finished result.
The biggest key? Let them dry completely before taking the rods down. A properly dried set helps those curls hold their shape and gives you that beautiful bounce.

TIP TUESDAY💧Shampooing after Synthetic Braids
Many types of synthetic braiding hair may have an alkaline coating that can leave residue and temporarily affect the hair and scalp’s natural pH balance. When that is combined with weeks of styling products, oils, sweat and normal shedding, the hair may need more than one quick shampoo.
For this client, I clarified first to remove buildup, then used a neutralizing shampoo to help restore pH balance.
After deep cleansing, I followed with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner—not just hydration.
What’s the difference? Hydrating ingredients help attract water, while moisturizing ingredients help soften the hair and reduce moisture loss. Some products can do both, so pay attention to the formula—not only the wording on the front of the bottle.
Every head of hair should be assessed individually, but the goal remains the same: properly cleanse, restore balance and replenish moisture.

Transformation Thursday✨
After wearing braids all summer, her hair was ready for a little extra care. We followed her silk press with a haircut and added a full steam treatment to restore much-needed moisture.
Although every service includes a mini steam at the bowl, the hooded steamer provides a deeper, more effective treatment—perfect after wearing a protective style for an extended period.

FINE HAIR DOESN’T MEAN NO SEW-INS.
It means your stylist must understand how to create security without sacrificing the hair underneath. Soft, fine hair can wear a sew-in—but balance and customization are everything.
A sew-in should feel secure. The braid pattern, leave-out, tension, weight, and added support should all be customized to the client’s hair.
