A wet wig is one of the most fragile states a wig can be in.
When your wig is wet, the hair is heavier and more delicate. This means rough handling can cause more shedding, tangling, and breakage over time.
โ
Wringing the wig puts unnecessary stress on the wefts.
โ
Scrubbing in circles can make the hair tangle. โ
Rubbing it with a regular bath towel creates friction, and trying to comb through tangles before applying conditioner can cause unnecessary pulling.
Instead, wash the wig with gentle downward motions.
Apply your conditioner and let it sit for at least 5 minutes before working through the tangles.
Then gently pat the wig dry with a microfiber towel.
Never wring. Never rub. And don't force your comb through wet tangles.
The shedding you think is a wig-quality problem may actually be caused by how you're handling the wig.
And that's something you can fix.
Save this and read it before your next wash. ๐
Every wig educator tells you to keep your wig clean.
Nobody tells you that washing
too often is one of the fastest ways to destroy it.
Every wash strips moisture from the fiber. Without a scalp producing natural oils to
replenish it โ the wig dries out a little more each time.
Do it weekly and within two months you're dealing with a wig that tangles on itself, sheds at the weft, and looks dull no matter what product you put on it.
The fix is a schedule that actually fits how you wear it.
Every 8 to 10 wears is the target for most women. If you wear your wig daily in humid weather, closer to 6.
If you're a light wearer in dry conditions, up to 12.
The rule is not a calendar. It's the wig telling you when it needs it.
Stop washing on a schedule. Start reading your wig.
Save this and share it with someone still washing weekly ๐

My client came to me with a blonde wig she wanted to revamp, but there was one problem the color was too bright for her taste.
She wanted something calmer and more natural-looking.
Not too bright, but still very beautiful and classy.
So, I decided to transform the wig from its bright blonde color into a beautiful light brown shade.
Hereโs the process of bringing her vision to life.
