One year as an independent stylist 🤍 Thank you God for this journey, it’s truly the best decision I’ve ever made. The first few months were rough, but I stayed faithful, trusted the process, and kept going. Now I’m in my second salon suite, in a new city, and it’s even better than I imagined 🥹

I didn’t realize how much stress I was carrying working in a traditional salon setting before. I was going to work unhappy, coming home drained, having a glass of wine just trying to “take the day off.” Stepping away from that environment changed everything. No more salon drama, just me and my clients, doing what I love in peace. Being surrounded by negativity had me falling out of love with something I’m so passionate about. It wasn’t until I removed myself that I found that love again.

I still have so much to learn with navigating busy days and balancing life, but I’m grateful, I’m growing, and I love this 🫶🏽

5 minutes of a 15-minute color consultation

This client originally came in a couple of weeks prior for a new client color consultation, but at the appointment she decided to go for a switch with her base color instead of keeping her natural. With previous box color on her hair, this was definitely a make-or-break situation. I had to lift through that old color to achieve our goal, which is why I initially told her she might leave with chocolate brown highlights, but we were able to push past that and achieve a much brighter final result, thank you to the color gods! lol

To keep her curls protected and healthy throughout the process, I used Hair and for added strength, hydration, and overall hair integrity

Color breakdown:
BlondMe lightener for highlights and to break through the previous color, Igora Royal permanent color to lift the base and pretone the highlights, and Igora Vibrance for the final tone.

Styling products: Cécred Moisture Sealing Lotion, Platinum Blow-Dry Spray, Perfect Defense, and Moroccanoil Treatment Purple Oil for that finished look
