I just pulled up & stopped and really LOOKed at this sign today. 🥹💕

Because sometimes when you’re busy surviving, rebuilding, adjusting and just trying to keep going… you forget to look at what you actually BUILT….

13 YEARS OF CANDY GIRL.

And baby, she has a STORY.

She’s seen packed rooms and quiet days.
Big wins and hard seasons.
Changes. Tears. Prayers. Comebacks.

But one thing about her…

SHE KEPT HER DOORS OPEN.

To every woman who has walked through those doors, trusted me with her body, bought a faja, sent a friend, shared a post or supported Candy Girl in ANY season…

YOU are part of these 13 years.

Today I’m not asking God for the next thing.

I’m just saying…

THANK YOU, GOD. 🥹💕

BABYYYYYY… today I found out what happens when you go TOO FAR to turn back. 😭🙌🏽

OMG y’all are probably wondering why I posted a picture of all my “ISH” thrown on the floor as soon as I walked in…

Because BABYYYYYYYYY… IT GOT REAL TODAY. 😭😂

I decided instead of driving to the gym, I was gonna walk and listen to this sermon.

The sermon got GOOD. I mean REAL GOOD. I was in a ZONE…

Walked. 🚶🏽‍♀️ Jogged. 🏃🏽‍♀️ Kept going…

Next thing I know, I made it ALLLL the way to the lifestyle center feeling like ROCKY. 🥊😂🙌🏽

Then it hit me…

Girl‼️ U GOTTA GET BACK HOME. 😭

Checked the map — 6.2 MILES just to get there and I didn’t even take the straight route‼️

I ain’t gonna lie… NO JOKE, I reached for my phone to call an Uber because AIN’T NO WAY I thought I could make it all the way back. 😩😂

YALLLLLLLLLLLL…

Allllllllll BS aside…

PHONE. DEAD.

Nobody around‼️
Sun BEAMING‼️
I’m TIRED‼️

I L👀KED up at the sky like…

“GOD… U FUNNY. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW⁉️😩”

And THAT’S when it hit me…

NOBODY WAS COMING TO SAVE ME.

It was ME & GOD. 🙌🏽

I had no choice but to put one 🦶🏽 in front of the other and WALK MY TAIL BACK HOME.

And somewhere on that walk back, it stopped being about exercise.

BABY… THAT’S LIFE‼️

Sometimes you get tired. Sometimes you want to quit. Sometimes you want somebody to come RESCUE you and make the hard part easier.

But maybe God will allow you to get to a place where nobody else CAN save you…

because you’ve been looking AROUND when He needs you to LOOK UP. 🙌🏽

WHEWWWWWW‼️

And suddenly I could hear that song Sister Bob (Rachel Bob your mommy) used to sing when I was a little girl at New Bethel Baptist Church in CHEEK…

🎶 “I’ve come too far from where I started from… Nobody told me the road would be easy…” 🎶

BABYYYYYY‼️🙌🏽

I don’t believe He brought me this far to leave me.

So I KEPT WALKING.!🚶‍♀️

Wasn’t as fast coming back. Baby, I was EXHAUSTED. 😩

BUT I KEPT GOING.

And when I FINALLY hit that front 🚪 Door‼️

Shoes. FLOOR.
Headphones. FLOOR.
Clothes. FLOOOOOOR. 😭😂

And looking at all my “ISH” laying there…

‼️I MADE IT‼️

And THAT’S the message.

I may have to slow down❗️
I may have to catch my breath❗️
But I have come TOO FAR to turn around now❗️

God didn’t bring me this far to leave me…

and I didn’t come this far to QUIT. 🙌🏽

Before you rebuild the business…

Sometimes you have to go ALLLLLL the way back to the woman underneath it ALL.

No makeup.
No filter.
No performance.

Just HER.

Because you can leave the person who hurt you and STILL carry their voice with you.

You can change your whole life and STILL see yourself through somebody else’s eyes.

THAT’S NOT FREEDOM. ❤️‍🩹

Sometimes starting over isn’t about packing your bags and leaving.

Sometimes it’s about UNPACKING everything somebody made you believe about yourself.

The criticism.
The rejection.
The comparisons.

The things THEY said about you that somehow became the things YOU believed about YOU.

One of MY first steps toward healing was learning to look at myself without repeating everything I’d been told was wrong with me.

Maybe somebody reading this needs to start there too.

Because you can build an entirely NEW LIFE and still carry the OLD version of YOU into it.

STEP 1: 🛑 STOP asking the mirror to confirm somebody else’s opinion of YOU.

LOOK AGAIN. ❤️‍🩹

Maybe you don’t need to become a NEW woman…

Maybe you need to finally meet the woman who was there BEFORE somebody convinced her she wasn’t enough.

Maybe starting over isn’t always about starting from nothing…

Sometimes it’s about becoming who you were always supposed to be.
