This beauty came in to see me for her acne and was so frustrated and disheartened. But with a little time, trust and skincare treatments this beauty is now acne free and loves her skin! I mean she’s glowing!

We started off with switching up her routine and getting the right actives in it for her skin. We added Duality and Bioclear lotion by Marini SkinSolutions, as well as focusing on barrier support with Trio by Skinbetter or Instant Angel by Dieux ™. She was going to school in CA so homecare was super important since she couldn’t see me in person as frequently.

We started with facials and skincare and once acne was pretty much under control we’ve been doing microneedling to address scarring, pigmentation and overall rejuvenation!

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) is frequently criticized by the scientific and toxicological communities for utilizing fear-based marketing rather than objective, risk-based science.

The EWG’s databases (like Skin Deep) measure the potential theoretical hazard of an ingredient, ignoring the crucial toxicological principle that dose makes the poison. They often label ingredients “toxic” even when present in microscopic, safe trace amounts.

The EWG often gives high “hazard” ratings to essential preservatives like parabens or phenoxyethanol. This causes brands to remove them, leading to products that grow dangerous mold and bacteria.

The EWG heavily favors botanical ingredients. However, natural extracts and essential oils are often the leading cause of allergic contact dermatitis and skin irritation.

The organization frequently demonizes chemical UV filters. This scares consumers away from using sunscreen entirely, increasing their risk of skin cancer and premature aging. Also, shames people who can’t use mineral spf (white cast etc).

They cherry pick data, to promote their objectives or brands that pay for EWG certification.

The EWG offers an “EWG Verified” seal to brands. Critics point out a conflict of interest, as brands pay licensing fees to the organization to display this mark on their products. They also link to these products and get kickbacks.

There is no such thing as green/clean/non toxic/chemical free/organic/natural skincare products! Which means anyone could slap it on their label. The FDA only recognizes over the counter and prescription.

Lastly, natural doesn’t mean better. You would rub poison ivy on your face.
