Might take on compound W⬇️

I see this trend everywhere, and honestly… I’m interested to see the results. 👀

But let’s talk about the reality.

Compound W is formulated to destroy wart tissue not to safely treat hyperpigmentation or age spots. Because it’s designed to aggressively break down skin, it can cause burns, irritation, scarring, and even post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (especially in darker skin tones).

If your goal is to target a stubborn dark spot, there are much safer and more controlled options.

I spot treat pigmentation every day using professional chemical peel protocols that encourage healthy cell turnover instead of chemically burning the skin. The goal isn’t just to remove pigment—it’s to improve the skin while minimizing the risk of making the discoloration worse.

Just because something goes viral doesn’t mean it’s the safest option.

Would you try Compound W on a dark spot? 👇

Throwback

One of the most common mistakes people make before a peel is shaving too close to their appointment.

When you shave, you’re not just removing hair—you’re also creating thousands of tiny micro-exfoliations across the skin. While they may be invisible to the naked eye, your skin barrier has still been disrupted. Applying a chemical peel immediately afterward can increase irritation, redness, stinging, uneven pe*******on, and in some cases even increase the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

For facial peels, it’s generally best to avoid shaving for at least 24-48 hours beforehand, depending on your skin sensitivity. The same goes for body peels on areas such as the legs, arms, chest, back, or bikini line.

If you accidentally shave the day of your peel, let your provider know. The peel may still be possible, but adjustments to the treatment plan may be needed.

The goal of a chemical peel is controlled exfoliation—not combining multiple forms of irritation at the same time. Healthy skin responds better, heals better, and ultimately produces better results.

Remember: preparation is just as important as the peel itself. A few days of patience can make the difference between a smooth, even peel and unnecessary irritation.

Have questions about shaving, waxing, retinoids, or other pre-peel preparation? Ask before your treatment. Your skin will thank you later.

That blue face mask? It’s actually a 30% TCA Blue Peel.

The blue dye is there so the provider can see where the acid has been applied. The real work is happening underneath.

30% TCA is considered a strong peel and isn’t something to take lightly. More peeling doesn’t always mean better results.

Progressive over aggressive. Every time.
