The Salty Spray

So many people talk themselves out of it, they don’t want to be the only one who isn’t tan, or dread the group photos where they stand out. You don’t have to fry your skin to fix that. The right solution and the right amount of color, and you get to go enjoy the vacation instead of hiding from it. This client booked before Mexico for a friend’s birthday, very fair, just wanted a little color for the trip.

Everybody wants to know what the paper’s for. It’s what I lay at the bottom of the tent for you to stand on while I spray. When I first started I used towels… constant washing, always wet from the overspray, kind of a mess. The kraft paper is absorbent, and I can flip it and get a few tans out of one piece before it’s done. It’s just what works for me, not a rule, just my preference. Apparently it’s also very satisfying to watch me rip it, so here you go. If you want the exact paper and the holder/cutter I use, I’ve linked it all in my LTK, which is in my bio. One of my regulars booked for her birthday, and her kitchen was full of flowers when I showed up to set up. She’s headed to an all-white party and wanted to go a little darker than usual, so it was the perfect time to break out a new solution I’d been wanting to try: Lolite by @. Violet bronzer, comes out really toasty. This was my first time using it on a client, and I have a feeling it’s going to be a client fave. This client was headed to St. Pete, so I packed up and showed up at his apartment downtown. Mobile spray tanning means I’m not tied to a salon, if you’re in a high-rise, a house, or anywhere in between, I bring the whole setup to your door. Parking, elevators, the works. Wherever you are, I’ll get there.

Almost every client says some version of “I’m so sorry about my dog.” Please don’t be. The dogs are my favorite part of this job. I come into people’s homes all day, and getting tackled at the door by someone this happy to see me never gets old, especially when he goes and grabs his ball because clearly I’m staying to play.
